It feels like I’m living in the upside down world. A Forbes article from yesterday says 41% of Republicans view Russia favorably. That’s the same Russia that just a few years ago was paying bounties to the Taliban for killing US soldiers, on top of 80 years of generally being an enemy to the US. Somehow, we’ve found a way to blame Ukraine for Russia’s unprovoked invasion, too.

Meanwhile, (may as well be president) Musk and JD (not really a) Vance have been in Germany supporting the current iteration of the Nazi party there. If you’ve forgotten, the Nazis murdered millions of Jews and minorities throughout Europe in the 1930s and 40s, and many of our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents fought and died all over Europe and North Africa to stop them from the generally heinous goals they intended to accomplish.

But, while they’re chilling with the anti-Jewish Nazis in Germany, we’re supporting Israeli Jews in the fight against the Palestinians. (I’m not going to debate right now the justification of the 46,000 Palestinians killed and millions displaced as of January 2025 in Israel’s retaliatory attack on Gaza after Hamas invaded, kidnapped, and murdered over 1,200 Israeli citizens.)

Our foreign policy seems bigly scatterbrained and could use a glance at the moral compass.
