It’s almost over. Seven days from today, if the good Lord’s willing, and the creeks don’t rise, (but, Lord, we need a good rain) this election fustercluck will be nigh over. May it be decisive, and may we begin a process of healing and unifying.
In its aftermath, we should strive to end divisive, obstructionist practices, and respect our fellow Americans regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic status, LGBTQ status, or football loyalty. (…except if they like Ole Miss or Alabama. Those folks will always be losers, no matter what.)
Let our knowledge be based on fact and not opinion. It’s time to acknowledge our societal failures and work to right those wrongs. No matter who is in the Oval Office come January, our nation can’t afford to continue on this path we’re on. Its foundation is not secure and it leads to a Hazzard County bridge. Unfortunately, I’m afraid the YEE HAW will be more of an OH S*&T!!!
